52nd Regiment, Tennessee Infantry


Historical Notes:
The Tennessee 52nd Infantry Regiment was organized in January, 1862, at Henderson Station, Tennessee, with men recruited in Decatur, Shelby, Weakley, and Henderson counties. Following a disastrous bout with measles and losses at Shiloh, the unit was consolidated with the Tennessee 51st Infantry Regiment. The units served together throughout the war, but were separated from consolidation in April 1863. The unit fought at Chickamauga and Missionary Ridge, participated in the Atlanta Campaign, Franklin and Nashville. A remnant surrendered in North Carolina. Officers:
