The 6th Regiment, Tennessee Mounted Infantry was organized at Chattanooga, Tenn., August 20, 1864.

Assignments:
Attached to District of the Etowah, Dept. of the Cumberland, to February, 1865. 1st Brigade, 2nd Separate Division, District of the Etowah, to June, 1865.
Battles:
Duty at Chattanooga, Tenn., and railroad guard duty in District of Georgia. Skirmish at McLemore's Cove February 1,1865. Mustered out June 30, 1865.
