South Carolina 7th Infantry Battalion

Historical Notes:
This battalion was organized with 5 companies on 22 FEB 1862. Companies F & G organized on 27 MAY 1862. Company H was assigned on 16 OCT 1862.

The Enfield Rifles were surrendered by Gen. Joseph E. Johnston at Durham Station, Orange County, North Carolina on 26 APR 1865.

Company E - Kershaw, Sumter, Richland, Clarendon, Barnwell, Edgefield, Fairfield, Colleton, Lexington, Chesterfield and Orangeburg Districts.
Company F - Chesterfield and Lancaster Districts.
Company G - Kershaw, Fairfield, Richland, Lancaster, Chesterfield and Chester Districts.
Company H - Edgefield, Fairfield, Chester, Richland, Abbeville, Greenville and Newberry. Captain J. Hampden Brooks' Infantry Partisan company.
