20th Regiment, Pennsylvania Infantry (3 months, 1861)

Historical Sketch:
Col., William H. Gray; Lieut.-Col, George Moore; Maj., Andrew H. Tippin. The 20th regiment was the outgrowth of the Scott Legion of Philadelphia, veterans of the Mexican war, and was mustered into the national service at Philadelphia on April 30, 1861, for three months. Early in June the regiment was ordered to Chambersburg and assigned to the 3d brigade, 1st division of Gen. Patterson's force. It moved to Williamsport and shared in the marches to Martinsburg, Bunker Hill and Charlestown. On July 24 it left for Philadelphia and was there mustered out. Roster:
