The Delaware 5th Infantry Regiment was organized in Delaware at large October 25 to November 26, 1862. Regiment lost 3 by disease during service OFFICERS:

  • Duty in Delaware and as garrison at Fort Delaware, and guard duty on line of the Philadelphia, Wilmington & Baltimore R. R. from Perryville to Baltimore, till August, 1863.
  • Attached to District of Delaware, 8th Army Corps, Middle Dept., to July, 1863.
  • 2nd Separate Brigade, 8th Army Corps, Middle Dept., to August.
  • Mustered out August 12, 1863.
